Aquarium Bound

A bit of weird title, I suppose. But I am headed to Denver this weekend with my fam to go SNORKELING! I think I may just be a bit excited. I really want to go on a trip, I am getting a bit stir-crazy, and while I would love for that destination to be Greece or Thailand, I am very down with settling for Denver at the moment.
We're headed up there because my sister and her fiance live there, and my uncle will be coming into town for a lil visit! He is cooler and knows how to scuba dive... does my sister's fiance... I want to learn!!! How completely amazing would that be... ahhhh being underwater is unlike anything else to me on this earth. I absolutely love it. Yah, should probably get on that. My boyfriend is certified in scuba diving too!! Yeow, I am the slacker scuba student apparently...

This outfit is just something I threw together once cause I really wanted to wear these shoes. Love these shoes, but I find they are a bit challenging to incorporate into outfits. I think it worked here though! Black tights... can't really go wrong? I think that's a true statement... at least I hope it is.
:0 )

 Dress: Body Central
Cardi: Target
Tights: Target
Booties: Target
Random jewelry (sorry can't remember where I got them! Oh, and is it apparent yet that I love Target??)

By the way, I cannot wait for Spring.

Hurrah! I finally posted again. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted! I am extremely busy at work as of late because it is nearing Earth Day and I work for the Environmental Division, so there is a lot of planning going on. But I really like it! Who wouldn't like helping the planet, even if it is baby steps at a time??

It is those baby steps that turn into great strides...

:0 )

OH!!! And don't forget EARTH HOUR is on March 26 at 8:30 p.m.!!!

Tip Tuesday: Take Your Top Off!

Hi everyone!!!

I really apologize for my absence... if anyone was sad. Maybe someone was. I can hope.

Anyway, it's because I have been SUPER SUPER BUSY!!! It's almost Earth Day, so that means I have a ton of things to do for work. I love the work I am doing, it's just becoming a bit stressful! I bet we all know what that feels like. I have actually been pretty good at documenting my outfits, but I just can't find the time to doctor them and get them up!

But I thought I should at least write today, to give y'all a tip. And this one is Earth Day/environment related.

So I hope you all recycle EVERYTHING that can be recycled. If you don't know your area's recycling guidelines, contact your county environmental department and I am almost positive they will have some info for ya.

BUT. I know everyone tries to recycle plastic bottles... but do you recycle the tops along with them?? It is very rare that a local recycling station can process these, as they are usually made from a different type of plastic than the polyethylene bottles. It is usually only specialty places like Aveda that do.

So here is my tip: make sure to remove the lid from your plastic bottle before you toss the bottle in the recycling bin! This will keep the recycling streams free of unwanted plastic and thus keep the recycling process moving along smoothly and efficiently!  :0 )

Ha. There is one of many environmental tips that I am SURE you will be seeing more of.

That is, if I can keep up my posts...

Follow In Their Footsteps Friday: Orange Scarf

So every Friday, I have decided to feature my inspiration outfits. I get so many ideas from observing others, and it forces me to break out of my black, grey, and a pop of color outfits. (Of which, don't get me wrong, I still wear plentyyy.)
Today's inspiration came from FRONKS, who I found on the lovely Chictopia. I love her scarf so much more than my own, but this is the only orange scarf I own! I also love her acid wash jeans, but alas, I am acid-wash-jean free. Don't know if they would flatter me so much... Actually I love her entire outfit, but hey, I tried!!  :0 ) And I actually broke out a blazer I hadn't worn in years, and I think I have a new-found liking for it!

Blazer: Thrifted
Orange scarf: No clue, actually
Black tee: H&M
Jeans: H&M
Belt: New Yorker
Black flats w/flower detail: Thrifted in Germany

Soooo glad it's Friday, people. After work I am headed to a Nia dance glass with some chickies and then to Second Street Brewery for drinkies after!! Should be a good time. I have never done Nia before, but anything where you prance around and flowingly flail your arms about sounds good by me.

I hope you all have wondrous things planned for tonight, and this weekend!!

Tip Tuesday: March of the Mascara

 Holy Blagoly!!!! It's MARCH.

I cannot believe that. Time does march on, doesn't it... hahaha ohhh the pun madness!!!  :0 )

Here is my first tip to you my lovelies!! It is one that I myself use every single day. And although I am sure many of you know about it, it's possible some of you don't!

So I, like many ladies, am quite a fan of cosmetics. I hate going out in public before completing my whole makeup face project, thing. And if I am really in a rush, I still must put on foundation, blush and... mascara. Otherwise I look like I have no eyelashes. And therefore weird.

Photo: Getty Images, off of stylelist.com So here is a MASACARA MAKEUP TIP for youuu!!!

I find that mascara is best applied when very liquidy. You know how mascara tends to dry up on the inside of the bottle, and then when you pull out the applicator sometimes the brush is stuck weird because the liquid has kind of, shall I say, CLUMPED. Ohhh clumpy mascara. *Shudder shudder*

So here is THE tip: before you apply your mascara, run the entire tube—capped, of course—under running hot water for about 30 seconds. The warmer the liquid is inside, the smoother the liquid gets and thus the easier to glide on. Often, I do not have access to hot running water, so then I will instead hold the tube someplace warm (I put it between my legs... hey, it's warm there, can't argue that) while I complete the rest of my makeup application. By the time I apply my mascara, it is nice and liquidyyy.

Oh... and I have many mascara tips... but I think I will disperse them...   :0 )

Cheers loves!!
