Sunkissed Earthtones

Happy Friday everyone!!

I am very excited it's Friday! This week has been a bit weird for me... and I can't really put my finger on why it has been. I feel as though I am on the edge of the sickness precipice, which I really do not enjoy. If I am going to get sick, let's bring it on so I can get over it!

My teeth really hurt... which is never a good sign. And mouth issues are the worst since I find them so hard to ignore!  :0 (

Anyway. This blog process is definitely beginning to change me. Now not only am I documenting my outfits, but I find myself trying to take more challenges with what I choose to wear. This outfit doesn't really showcase that, since it is fairly basic (but I still LOVE it!), but I think much more about style and have become extremely interested in checking out the risks that other fashion bloggers have chosen to take. It fascinates me.

My take on fashion is basically I like to look nice. There are some fashion trends out there that I wouldn't dare try, since I am pretty sure they would look horrid on me (and sometimes, I hate to say it, but I think it looks horrid on the people who do dare to try), but I through this effort I feel myself contemplating outfits that I would have never thought about before. And that's mostly due to the inspiration I get from observing what others are doing.

So therefore I will pose some questions to any readers: What is your take on fashion? What are some of the most daring outfits you have put together? What is your favorite trend right now?

I think my next fashion goal needs to be examining the thrifting scene in Santa Fe much more closely. I feel like I haven't really explored that (sure to be great) avenue as much as I should!

What is a goal of yours?

Blue leather jacket: Jack
Brown cardi: Mossimo
Green cami: Maurices
Dark wash jeggings: Maurices
Boots: Sam Edelman
Purple earrings: World market
Necklace: Custom-made by Kate

Tonight I am headed up to Martini's house to meet his brother and his wife! They are like the only people in his immediate fam that I have yet to meet. I am nervous, which is weird!  :0 /  It should be a blast, I bet we will laugh lonnggg into the night.

That kind of laughing is the best.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Yah, I Guess I Like Red

It's so interesting, I guess I never really realized how often I wear red! It always seems like such a good color to plan things around. Although I think I planned this outfit around my boots. Too bad I have never treated these boots with suede protection! I always tromp through the snow in my nice boots. Boo. They aren't that worn though, so I guess I didn't mess up too bad!

Red coat: Orsay
Beige blazer: Maurices
Blue and black spotted blouse: Maurices
Jeans: Levi
Brown heeled boots: Jessica Simpson

Whooo it's the weekend!!

Well for me it is.   :0 )  My work schedule allows me to work 9 hours a day so that I am able to take every other Friday off! It was a bummer though... I worked two Fridays ago in order to take off last Friday to see WICKED (one of the best Broadway shows EVER) and then my work closed down in order to conserve gas to help with the rolling natural gas outages that were happening across New Mexico. That's right, New Mexico experienced such a cold snap that the gas company couldn't meet demand and thousands of New Mexicans were left without gas. And some still are! So insane huh? Well anyway, I ended up having to work an extra day when I would have gotten that day off! But how could I have known that. And also, my work was just trying to help in the face of a disaster! So how could I be upset?   :0 /   Hahaha.

Anyway, today I am pretty much just going to relax, run some errands, and watch Glee! Yay all around.

Sweet, Sweet Sanford

TA-DA!!!!!!

They have ARRIVED!!! And I must say... they are some of the most BEAUTIFUL boots I have ever seen!! I am so sosososo glad they worked out! Oooo and I am super stoked about the deal I got. Yes! Brown Boots, I have FINALLY found you! These are perfect for me because I can lace them up to fit the width of my calves. I didn't think I had big calves, but I went through many a boot before I found this baby. How do you little chickie's have such teeny calves? People don't carry you around, do they?  :0 )  Oh SANFORD! How I adore you! Ok, a little obsessed... sorry.

This is my pup Baxter wee Bax! Well, just Baxter. But I call him everything from Bub to Beetle. Ohhhh he is just so cute! And also very cuddly... as illustrated here.

Beige blazer: Maurices
Blue blouse: Maurices
Brown boots: Sam Edelman
Alliteration: B is the best letter  :0 )
Jeggings: Maurices
Earrings: World Market
Ring: Purchased in Nice, France!
So when I was putting this outfit together, I grabbed this blue blouse because blue and brown are one of my favorite combos ever (yah, not that original, I know...) but I didn't remember that the sleeves were a bit poofy and long! So they stuck out from under my blazer. I was worried at first and thought "dangit, why didn't I grab a different blue shirt?" but I am kinda liking that look! What do you think??

On another note... over the course of this weekend a pipe burst in mine and Kate's apartment (in her bedroom... yeesh) and flooded her entire room in about three inches of water in 30 seconds! Ahhhhh. So yah that sucked. Then, when I went to my boyfriend's house this weekend, pipes connecting to the washer and dryer had burst as well and had flooded the entire laundry room... and when the laundry room had just about as much water as it could handle, it started draining into his basement. When he went down there with his irrigation boots he said he thought there was about two FEET of water! His stuff was floating everywhere.

Ugh. Dang cold temperatures!! New Mexico is not cut out for this! Hey weather, I would like it to get warmer now please... thanks.

Whooo!! Two days of posts in a row! Woot.

This is what I did during the Superbowl

 Shirt: Mossimo
Cami: Maurices
Jeggings: Maurices
Socks: Target
Boots: Jessica Simpson
Necklace: Made by Kate (one of the first, if not the first (?) that she ever made me!
Silver hoops: JC Penny
Bracelet: Target

(I love my hair-flip pic by the way)

That's right.
I do notttt care about the Superbowl!!!! Whahahahaha!! So I went outside and finally took pics of my outfit. Hurray!!! This one was really fun too, I took manyyyy pictures so that I could have many many from which to choose!

(P.S. I know this is the best tactic... ok... it's just sometimes TIME does not permit!)

So THANKS Superbowl for allotting me time!!

As you can see, I also changed my blog layout. Which, I am sure will happen many times. Although I think I messed something up when I was editing my template back when I first was figuring some stuff out... I don't know, some aspects do not cooperate! Like photo resizing, and even when I am typing up my posts sometimes my cursor does really weird things... Man. I hope I did not completely screw up my template forever and ever!!   :0 /

Oh and GUYS. I got my Sam Edleman boots.
Holy cow.
Don't worry, I already took pics of that outfit!!! Which will be up... TOMORRIE!

Oh, and congrats Packer fans.   ;0 )

Where for art thou, brown boots of mine?

I know... I am aware I have been lacking in the posting department!! Ack times a thousand! I cannot believe how busy I have been of late... so busy that I haven't even really planned any cool outfits!! Yikes. Bikes? Hehehe that was a movie line...

ANYWAY when I get home I am going to take a picture of my outfit!!! It is fairly basic, but the necklace I'm wearing today is what makes it amaaaazing. Kate made me a necklace for my birthday and it is awesome. Ahhh custom-made jewelry... gotta love it.

I am also getting some clothes delivered to me today from... you guessed it! Maurices!!! I love them sooo much. I think because of the diverse selection they offer, I LOVE their Wear @ Work section (I would say this is the genre I wear most often... boring?? NO!), and I love how they give you little ideas on how to wear an item with their "Complete the Look" sidebar. Love them!

I also have been on the hunt for the perfect pair of brown boots... I ordered some Seychelles but they were too tight on my calves (dang calves!), which was a real shame because they were beautiful boots. They were the Incognito boots, and if you have smallish calves and are looking for a great boot, those were NICE.

I also tried out the Naughty Monkey Detective boot, which looked really nice online but just wasn't my style...

I have been searching... and searching. I probably should go to an actual shoe store, but those prove to be quite dangerous for me. However, I did poke around some and I found these:

The Sanford boot by Sam Edelman. Oh. My. God. What a GORGEOUS boot. I found seriously THE LAST ONE in my size from Amazon Warehouse Deals.

I think it's fate.

Let's hope!!

My Doggie Loves Me

So didn't get around to posting this last night, too tired and too much to do! But here is my outfit from yesterday.

 Outfit details:
Jacket: Vera Moda (bought in Germany)
Scarf: Thrifted at a market in Vienna
Black shirt: Orsay
Jeggings: Maurices (ok, I know I wear them ALL the time but I LOVE them!)
Purple belt: ?? (Also bought in Germany)
Bubbled Blue necklace: Made by Kate
Earrings:Target
Puppy: Little Toby who is one of my little babies

I have decided that I need a new pair of black boots! I have three already... but... I wear one pair to death. Those new boots I mentioned ordering in an earlier post didn't end up working out (stupid calves!) so now I must go on the hunt once again!!

Today I am not wearing anything of note, since I have a spa appointment later I decided to dress in total comfort so as to prolong those effects!!!

I think that is a great idea...    :0 )

Til tomorrow!
